Vehicle Description
Every town has stellar local car that everyone has been admiring
for years, and this is one of them! This 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass
was purchased in Wilkesboro, NC, and has remained in NC its whole
life. Now that this clean survivor is finally for sale, so don't
miss your chance.
The unique design lines made these Olds coupes quite popular when
new. So you probably have a story or two that come to mind the
moment you see that 90-degree waterfall grille come into view. But
the reason why you're especially attracted to this one is because
you just don't see them in this kind of well-preserved condition
anymore. The factory-correct yellow paint and black vinyl roof are
the perfect '70s combo that looks period-correct without being
dated. Heck, even the color-matched Rallye wheels coordinate nicely
in this yellow and black theme. Take some time to look at some of
the detail work like the black pinstripe, complete badging
(including the taillights), and how the plastic guards between the
chrome bumpers and the body still fit that gap perfectly - you
simply don't find Oldsmobiles from this era in such great condition
anywhere else!
The worlds of premium and performance seem to mix perfectly on this
interior. The factory black vinyl is both muscle-car aggressive,
and also coordinates with the exterior accent color for a very cool
total package. The split front bench gives you the choice of
seating up to six, or you can fold down the front armrest for
individual comfort. These seats match nicely with the headliner,
carpeting, dash, and door panels all of which also show signs of
being factory original, and in great condition still. But this is
far from a completely dark affair. There's plenty of wood paneling
to add a premium touch and warm up the atmosphere. It's on places
such as the door panels and on the dash. While these intermediates
have plenty of room to carry all your family and friends, this is a
very driver-oriented interior. The controls for AM/FM stereo,
head/defrost, and provisions for air conditioning are all tilted
towards you. Plus, the dual pod gauges are always a nice touch.
Open the hood to see a very honest and original engine bay. This is
the numbers-matching 260 cubic-inch V8, and it even still has the
GM parts sticker on the factory air cleaner. The odometer reads
53,620, and that's actual miles. So with averaging less than 1,400
miles annually, this coupe retains an attention-worthy level of
originality (even the original spare tire is in the trunk with
factory markings.) But an affordable Olds like this is also the
classic you want to drive. That's why you'll be happy it comes with
a large file of maintenance records, so you know it fires up easily
and idles smoothly. Plus with features like the three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes, this
is an easy choice for your anytime classic.
Every car has a story to tell. Complete with owner's manual and
title documentation, the tale of this Cutlass is about being babied
all its life. It's a low mileage gem that has lived its whole life
as a Southern car in NC. So while you might just want this
affordable classic for its right blend of sport and luxury, this
survivor Olds will also always give you something to talk about.
