Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this stunning 1965 Shelby Daytona by Factory Five Racing. This late Gen II example was a no-expense-spared build completed to the highest standards in 2012 with just 2000 miles since. Body fit and finish is the best that we have seen on a Factory Five as is the paintwork -- a custom blend from House of Colors with luster a mile-deep. The period race livery completes the look and always turns heads.Interior is all business but nicely finished and the Kirkey seats are surprisingly comfortable once you wiggle your way in (they are even heated for those cold days). A/C is also fitted and the back-up camera and fire-suppression systems are a nice touch. As good as this Daytona looks it drives even better thanks to the quality of the components lurking beneath. An aluminum block 351 Windsor-based 408 cubic inch monster is stuffed under the long hood. It's fitted with AFR heads March pulleys gorgeous long-tube headers and Canton sump. Where most builders would be satisfied with a big four-barrel or fuel injection this build takes it a step further running four double down-draft Weber 48 IDAs. The sound and power delivery (not the mention the awesome look when you open the bonnet) make this expensive upgrade worth every penny. The nearly 500 horsepower is delivered through a 500TKO five-speed manual and 8.8 rear end. Fully adjustable tubular A-arm independent suspension at all four corners with adjustable coilovers. Big Wilwood brakes haul this beast down from speed with ease and new tires were just fitted on Factory Five Halibrand-style 17-inch wheels.Extensive build history and photos accompany the sale. Registered as a 1965 Ford Daytona. For more information on this Factory Five Shelby Daytona for sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta please call 404-692-5250.
