The Chevrolet Corvair was manufactured and marketed from 1960 to 1969 over two generations.  It was the only American-designed, mass-produced passenger car to utilize a rear-mounted air-cooled engine.  It was also Chevy's first attempt at uni-body construction.  This factor caused the vehicle's dependence on the body for strength, rather than a frame.  Yes, the Corvair represented several breakthroughs in design for mass-produced Detroit vehicles, with 1,786,243 total units build throughout its production span.  This 1965 Corvair is part of the model year for which a long awaited body change occurred.  This change was wildly popular and led to an incredible 235,000 units built for that model year alone.  However, fewer than one percent of these 1965s were the pinnacle of the production line, the Corsa Turbo Convertible.  It is estimated that about 2,165 were built, and very few are still on the road.  Fewer still is the number of Corsa Turbo Convertibles in such immaculate condition as this one.  Beneath the car the original pinch welds, found on vehicle's with uni-body construction, are still displayed.  This indicates the car's damage free condition.

This 1965 Corvair Corsa Turbo Convertible has been outfitted with some very impressive options and features, all of which help to create the perfect combination of performance and curb appeal.  Highlights of this vehicle's advantages include:

Turbocharged 180 Horsepower Engine
Fisher Body Tag with Turbo "4O" Designation
Power Convertible Top
Positraction Rear Axle
Upgraded Radio with Rear Antenna
Original AM Radio Included
Padded Dash

This Corsa Turbo Convertible has received meticulous attention to detail in regards to her maintenance and upkeep.  With the correct RL block and turbo heads, this car's engine was rebuilt by non other than the chief Corvair engine instructor from Detroit.  He trained the Chevrolet dealer mechanics on the maintenance of the Corvair engine.  Now retired, this chief instructor resides in Alachua, Florida.  Additionally, there are only a handful of experts in the US who are qualified and experienced with the Corvair Turbocharger, and it is one of these experts who was hired to artfully rebuild the turbocharger for this 1965 Corvair.  This gentleman is now living in St. Leo, Florida also retired.

With its rich heritage and unique design the Chevy Corvair has always been a collectible classic.  However, the overall value of these impressive cars is rapidly increasing, as indicated in an article by Hemmings in 2014.  This top-of-the-line Corsa Turbo Convertible is a sound investment and very fun to drive.  Not only will this car keep increasing in value, but this is your chance to own a "Best of Show" winner several times over.  This car is a must see/drive to truly appreciate its overall presentation.  In fact, come see for yourself!  You will agree that you cannot find another '65 Chevy Corvair Corsa Turbo Convertible in this condition for the asking price.  Call today for more information on how you can get behind the wheel of this Ruby Red dream come true!!!
