1961 Maserati 3500GTIThis 1961 Maserati 3500GTI is an excellent original car in need of restoration. Burgundy with original saddle leather interior. The body and paintwork are excellent and it has no rust. It currently has a correct 3500GT engine in it but the block is un-numbered . Originally it would have been injected however the current engine has triple weber carburetors. The engine is sitting in the car on wooden blocks. The car has its correct 5 speed gearbox. The car is only missing its bell housing, one piece of chrome around the windshield, and one around the rear window, and one or two interior door handles. It has the front and rear glass. History:Maserati has confirmed that on November 7, 1961 they delivered this black 3500GT to the Scuderia Serenissima (chassis AM101.1902). It is believed that the car was used by the team for road transportation to and from events during the busy 1962 season. This car represents an opportunity to own and restore a car that was there during the great battles of the early 1960s. Through the 1960s the Scuderia Serenissima team raced Ferraris, Maserati, Lotus, DeTomaso and others. In the 1961 season they raced LeMans, Nurburgring, Targa Florio, Monaco, Spa Francorchamps, Reims, and Monaco. Once restored this car will be welcomed at all major concours, rallies, and any gathering of Scuderia Serenissima cars. Little is known of the car after it left Serenissima until it turned up in California in 1977. It remained in the same family ownership from 1977 to 2016. Price: $129,500
