From 1966 through 1974, Baldwin Chevrolet of Baldwin, New York, and Joel Rosen's Motion Performance collaborated to produce some of the most extreme muscle cars to ever attack street or strip, building a reputation for pushing the envelope by putting radically powerful 427 and 454 CI engines into factory V-8 Chevy products. Rosen also made extensive use of aftermarket parts in these conversions, the wildest of which came with a written money-back guarantee from Rosen of specific quarter-mile performance. No Baldwin-Motion-built car was ever returned for not meeting the guarantee, yet Phase III cars were renowned for their calm around-town demeanor and excellent reliability. The Baldwin-Motion performance blueprint was instrumental in guiding the rotisserie restoration of this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Motion replica, which was completed in December 2015. Of course raw horsepower was the driving force behind every Baldwin-Motion muscle machine, but show-winning good looks were important, and those two qualities abound in this beautifully finished all-out performer. This Camaro's new 427/425 HP V-8 delivers the goods with GM Performance aluminum heads, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, tube headers and custom dual exhaust. A Muncie close-ratio 4-speed and 12-bolt 3.73:1 Positraction differential-both rebuilt-complete the heavy-duty drivetrain. The Camaro's base-coat/clear-coat PPG Tuxedo Black finish is truly impressive, and it's completed with a new Deluxe Houndstooth interior and new chrome, glass and weather stripping to a highly detailed as-new presentation. RS badges and select Rally Sport features, such as hideaway headlights and specific parking and reverse lights, combine with a contrasting nose stripe and rear spoiler to create the car's RS/SS vibe, and the Motion look was established with the addition of a Corvette-style big-block hood and hood tach, "SS427" and Motion badges, and the dealer decals that identified every Baldwin-Motion conversion. Finally, no Baldwin-Motion build was complete without this car's 15-inch Torq Thrust D wheels and period-look Mickey Thompson rubber
