For many people the 1978 model is the preferred year for the Lil Red Express because of a loophole in the emissions regulations. It was allowed to run one year this way without catalytic converters. In 1978, the Lil Red was the quickest US made vehicle available from 0-100 mph as tested by Car and Driver. The EH1 engine in the truck is a re-tuned version of the E58 Police engine. She sits on 15x7 up front and 15x8 wheels out back as original.
This example, has seen just over 100,000 miles. Comes with spare chrome rims. Runs, drives as one expects from a 1978 truck. It may not be a perfect example but it is a very original example. And there are not too many of those around. It has been stored mostly inside for the better part of 10 years and it has very, very minor rust in a few spots.
