Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is excited to present this 1953 Mercury Monterey
Hardtop Coupe for purchase. The Mercury got a whole new look in
1952, and the Monterey became its own separate model line. The car
now featured a larger shape, rounded out fenders, curved glass, and
controls on a level plane behind the steering wheel. The 1950's
Mercury's were popular then and now. However, their desirability
among customizers and hot-rod builders make stock examples tough to
find.
This is an impressive car inside and out that is believed to be all
original. The Siren Red paint flows beautifully with the black and
the chrome accents. The unique dash, that the Monterey is known
for, is in great condition. The black and red leather seats look
great and are in wonderful condition for the age. Everything is
correctly placed on this car and is in very good condition
including wheels, chrome, stainless, radio and emblems. You could
keep this nice driver as is, without much investment bring it to
show car condition, or like many 50's Mercury's make it in to a
stylish hot rod. It's powered by the original 4.2L Flathead V8
paired with the 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts
smoothly. This car also features power brakes and power steering.
This is a very rare survivor. Please call or email for more
details!
