This 1951 Pontiac Chieftain was highly optioned for the time
period. Options from the Pontiac Dealer Catalog include - 7 Tube
Radio w/Antenna, Back-up Lights, Extra Trim on Front and Rear
Bumpers, Windshield Sun Visor, Traffic Light Viewer, Electric
Clock, and Lighted Pontiac Hood Ornament.
This shapely car is perfect for someone who would like to tinker
with it and replace/freshen up a few things to complete this
beautiful Chieftain.
The body is solid, and looks to have been repainted once quite some
time ago. The paint is in very good condition overall, with a few
areas (shown in pics) that show some blemishing. The chrome
condition throughout the vehicle ranges from fair to very good. The
interior shows some age, but has been well maintained. The
Straight-8 engine is silky smooth and delivers power very well.
This Chieftain came to us from a collector in Oregon - prior to
that the car was in Alaska. The mileage is said to be original
mileage, although not documented, the condition that the car is in
makes 29k original miles believable.
This car is missing some trim pieces and the grille. There are a
few spare trim pieces that are not on the car shown in the photo of
the trunk.
A little elbow grease and some quality time spent with this car
would definitely result in a stunning retro cruiser!
