For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1973 Porsche 914 2.0. This little Porsche is painted in the popular Phoenix Red over a black vinyl interior. Sporting 15 inch aluminum wheels with modern high performance rubber by Yokohama. The 914 in its day, was in a class all by itself. Some would consider it to be in the small 4 cylinder sports car class like the Fiat 124 Spider, Alfa Romeo or the triumphs and MGs from the UK. The truth is, they would all run and hide from the 914. With four wheel disc brakes and a mid mounted flat four cylinder engine, this was no car to mess with. They also tend to be more comfortable than the aforementioned having no drive shaft going through the floor board and no engine mounted up front encroaching on the foot well. This 914 is on its third owner and was last purchased from a retired Porsche mechanic. Recently restored and included a professional engine rebuild with new pistons, new carburetors, new clutch and new Bursch exhaust. It also received a new interior seats, carpet, rubber trim for the windows and targa top, windshield and a new AM/FM radio with CD player. With only 1,000 miles on the rebuilt engine, this little Porsche is ready for the open road or some track days with your local Porsche club.
