GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1964 Pontiac Lemans GTO for purchase. The famous GTO line (Gran Turismo Omologato) started as a trim option for the Pontiac LeMans in 1964. John Delorean helped break the mold in General Motors to bring the speed to the A-body platform. The GTO is widely considered the first muscle car that started the trend for all of Detroit, and high sales eventually forced them to launch the GTO as its own model line in 1966.
This first year GTO is one of the finer examples out there with great documentation and excellent condition! This '64 Lemans GTO was sold new at Mecham Pontiac in Glendale, Arizona with plenty of options including air conditioning, power steering, dual exhaust, bucket seats, console shift, and more. It's powered by the 389ci V8 engine with tri-power 3-carburetor setup and automatic transmission. The frame-off restoration leaves this car in excellent condition showing Cameo Ivory paint with Dark blue freshly restored interior.
