For Sale: 1973 DeTomaso Pantera in Allentown, Pennsylvania
This is a BAD ASS ride! A 'regular' Pantera is a very cool, but a wide body Pantera will steal the show EVERY TIME. i don't care what event you bring this to, i guarantee there will be a crowd around this beast immediately, car has an amazing presence.
i am an ex bmw tech, longtime car enthusiast/collector. i have a bunch of European cars, included 3 first generation e30 M3's (1990 27k miles, 1990 88k, 87 euro 99km), 2 mercedes 190e 2.3 16v cosworth, 12 air cooled 911, 1992 500e, s55 AMG, ferrari 308, testarossa, lamborgini, bla bla. i am listing this car for a good friend of mine (also an enthusiast/collector).
This is a verified original Euro 1973 Pantera GTS (serial number THPNNB05626), originally sold in Italy, import into the US in 1974 by Bergen Imports.
This is an ultra reliable, very well maintained and functionally modified unit. By today's standards a 1973 car would be a handful to keep on the road. this car has had many of its systems tastefully modified, bringing it into the performance and reliability realm of a modern sports car. This car is blistering fast, but also can stop and handle the turns incredibly well, and has super cold AC (never a strong point in a Pantera).
Fully balanced a blue printed Ford Windsor 420cc (built and dyno'd by Ritter Performance Machining)
500hp 475 lb/ft torque
All of the best products used (Predator hi lift cam, bowl ported head, stainless valves, Holley 800 carb, etc)
Custom made headers and exhaust system (Sounds ridiculously good)
Updated Power brakes (Pantera Tuning company provided upgrade kit consisting of corvette C4 rotors and calipers so replacement parts are easily sourced
Updated cooling system with custom 5 row radiator, Evans Cooling Fans, silicone hoses throughout
Factory original ZF 5 speed transaxle (#3642) with 4.22 final drive ratio
Update Jacobs Pro Street Ultra ignition system
Updated twin electric fuel pumps
Update fuse box/electrics with circuit breakers, etc
Colorado Custom Wheels (17x9.5 front and 17x12.5 rear)
Michelin Pilot Sport Tires (285/40/17 front and 335/35/17 rear) needs rear tires soon!
Professionally crafted/installed Detomaso Pantera GT5 wide body kit (front bumper with integrated chin spoiler and fog lights, front and rear wheel arches with integrated side rocker sills, functional RAM air intakes behind door windows, large rear spoiler)
We have a 3 ring binder of all receipts, manuals for all the updated items on the engine/electronics, dyno sheets, etc.
Been with my buddy for 20 years of ownership, he has lots of other toys (cars and planes), hasn't really used it much of late. Car starts, runs and drives wonderful. You will not find a better performing Pantera anywhere near this price.
