STK 2181 1977 Volkswagen Convertible As we all know, many parts of
the Volkswagen Beetle are interchangeable. This fully restored
Volkswagen is a combination of classic Beetle models. The chassis
is vintage 1977, but the convertible body began life as a '63
model. It is powered by a healthy 1600cc flat-four, nicely dressed.
The engine was rebuilt prior to 2012 and sounds close to stock
except for the aftermarket header system. Note that the motor is
bone-dry underneath (photos). Completing the drivetrain, a 4-speed
manual transaxle performs well. The suspension components appear to
be standard with 4-wheel drum brakes and 'MiniLite style alloy
wheels that mount all-season radials. The exterior Copper refinish
(2012) is in good shape, as is the new white convertible top. This
Beetle looks great with the early 'teardrop' headlamps and 'small'
chrome bumpers. The interior was fitted with Oldsmobile Cutlass
bucket seats and then reupholstered (2012) with rich copper and tan
vinyl/cloth. A classic Volkswagen dash holds only the speedometer,
fuel gauge and AM/FM radio. A custom Dino steering wheel finishes
off the driver's compartment. This is the perfect Myrtle Beach car
and someone is going to have a lot of fun with it. Call
800-650-1055 or visit www.autobarnclassiccars.com for additional
information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD AS IS.
