STK 2088 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 This fully restored 1967 Chevelle has the coveted '13817?.' VIN that designates a factory SS396. Over 60,000 SS396s were produced in '67, but somehow many more seem to exist today. This one is the real deal and it is a beautiful example of the last Gen1 SS396, coveted by collectors and drivers alike. Ermine white paint was freshened in 2011. Fit and finish are very nice and period-correct Cragar SS 5-spoke wheels set the stance. The black vinyl interior with tinted windows has been restored to near original condition throughout, including the factory tachometer, hung on dash left of the steering column and stock 'Muncie' shifter. An aftermarket AM/FM stereo unit has been added for better tunes. This Chevelle is also equipped with power steering and power assisted disc/drum brakes. Horsepower comes from the numbers matching 396/350hp and original 4-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly. GM was very conservative when rating these motors in '67 - they didn't want sedans to have Corvette specs. Most experts say this optional L34 350hp motor is at least 10-20hp shy of the actual output. This Chevelle SS396 was one of the original 'Muscle Cars' - always a handful to drive, but what fun. It belongs in your garage.
