STK 2150 1966 Pontiac GTO Many folks say the Pontiac GTO introduced the muscle car era and it still remains one of the most popular muscle cars of all time. With a name taken from the Ferrari racer meaning 'Gran Turismo Omologato', there is little doubt that the GTO was created with performance in mind. Originally manufactured in California, this 1966 GTO hardtop is one of the nicest first generation Goats that you will find. It comes with a 'Pontiac Historical Society' report to verify its authenticity. The matching numbers 335bhp XE-code 389ci motor is stock with one very significant upgrade. The original 4-barrel intake has been replaced with a Pontiac Tri-Power set-up. Even though the 3x2 carburation was not available from the factory on the '66 GTO, it looks right at home under the scooped hood. (The original 4V intake/carb are included with the sale.) This big motor sounds sweet and is backed by a bulletproof 3-speed Turbo400 automatic transmission with console shift and factory differential. Our Cameo Ivory exterior is mostly original save for only a few minor areas that have been redone. The Red Vinyl (222) interior, a perfect color accent to the Ivory exterior, is still in very good original condition - everything looks very much like it did fifty years ago. This classic is equipped with the factory AM radio (in dash), Sony AM/FM/CD stereo, power steering, power disc/drum brakes and tinted windows. Factory Pontiac Rally Wheels mount radial tires in good condition. The current owner is ready to pass this revered muscle car on to a new home - why shouldn't that be your garage?
