STK 2094 1971 Dodge Challenger Dodge did not jump into the Pony Car fray until after Chrysler had introduced the 3rd generation 'Cuda. That original Dodge Challenger was a timeless classic and the inspiration for the current version of the Challenger. Our Plum Crazy 1971 model is a fully documented restoration that was completed in 2013. All mechanicals are original numbers matching. Paint, fit and finish are excellent throughout. The interior looks just like it did in 1971. The vinyl top is virtually flawless and the matte black accents are correct and well done. All brightwork including hood pins and 'racing' gas cap are in like-factory condition. This 1971 Challenger-340 was one of the most roadworthy of all the pony cars. These 340ci engines were lightweight and extremely powerful for their displacement. Advertised horsepower for the 340/4V was 275hp, but most MOPAR folks will tell you that was quite conservative. The motor is a high-revving, potent power-plant, perfectly matched to a pony car. Our Challenger motor was rebuilt in 2013 and is backed by the indestructible TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic and factory differential with 3.23:1 gears. Michelin radials are mounted on 14 factory Rally wheels. Other upgrades and convenience options include: power steering, power disc/drum brakes, Rally Pack instrumentation and AM/FM stereo. There is documentation that states that the car was originally delivered with the 'Shaker Hood option, but that component is no longer with the car. This beautiful Dodge Challenger comes with a full restoration history including photos and receipts. Come by and check it out - you will not be disappointed.
