Vehicle Description
Stk. 1919 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-500 Convertible The last year
a Shelby GT500 Mustang was ever produced was in 1969. At that time,
Ford became so involved in the style and design process that
Carroll Shelby found himself left with very little input; and in
the summer of 1969, he terminated his agreement with Ford. It would
be 37 years before Shelby would join forces again with Ford to
create a Shelby GT and GT-H model based on a stock Mustang GT
platform. Shelby teamed up in 2007 with Ford's SVT (Special
Vehicles Team) to roll out the next generation Shelby GT500.
Equipped with Fords 5.4L D.O.H.C. four-valve per cylinder engine
and topped off with an Eaton roots style supercharger; it was good
for 500 horsepower and 480 lb/ft of torque. Limited to less than
10,000 units per year over three years, the GT500 was a relatively
limited production car. Our convertible example here is a rare and
unusual one in that it has only six (6) actual miles showing on the
odometer. Resplendent in Tungsten Gray Metallic over a Black
leather bucket seat interior featuring red accents; this GT is
breathtaking! Sporting 9.5 wide 18 Shelby aluminum wheels shod with
staggered 255/45 front and 285/40 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 tires;
this combination really underscores this Shelby's sporting
intentions. It also features a Shelby specific louvered aluminum
hood to aid in lightening the front end. Other noteworthy standard
equipment includes an SVT Tuned Suspension, 14 Brembo Vented Front
Disc Brakes, a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission and a
stainless steel X-Pipe exhaust. Inside the cockpit its all luxury
with amenities such as A/C, Power Steering, Windows, Locks, Six-way
seats, trunk release, Shaker 1000 AM/FM/6 Disc CD Changer and power
cloth convertible top. If you missed the opportunity to purchase
one new in 2007 take heart, you now have another. Call 800-650-1055
