Vehicle Description
This is an exceptionally nice car. It has been lovingly cared for and improved. It has never been rusty and that is attributed to its Arizona heritage and limited use. It has been shown at concours shows and is a fabulous car to drive.
The most recent owner has owned it twice. He bought it in the early 70’s in Arizona. A friend from Ontario, Canada convinced him tp part with it in the late 90’s. He brought it home in 2005. Junior gave this car a lot of love, in fact, he had some maintenance and service performed even after knowing of my intent to purchase the car.
You are seeing the correct Olympic Blue. The finish is very lovely with only minimal flaws. Junior had it refinished about 25 years ago. The car has not seen much road time since. Any chips were touched up.
The exterior chrome is fantastic. It was expertly replated. The emblems are also wonderful. The pot metal IS NOT pitted. The E-Z eye glass is in good condition with minimal aging.
Junior installed a new Continental Kit in the last ten years. You can imagine the cost involved. At that time, he had California Car Covers sew a very nice cover for the car.
The original 331 V8 starts and runs great. It is very smooth and has great power. There are no leaks and it doesn’t smoke.
The ignition system was freshly tuned. The engine buy has been rewired. The hoses and belts were replaced. Both the radiator and heater core were removed, boiled, repaired and painted. The suspension was rebuilt, new brakes were installed and the dual exhaust system was redone to accommodate the Continental Kit. The exhaust exits through the rear bumper, as it should.
The Dual Range Hydra-Matic Transmission shifts properly. As you should know, the Reverse position also serves as the parking gear. I have driven 100’s of vehicles with Hydra-Matics. I truly enjoy the experience and can attest that this one woks well.
The engine bay looks wonderful. It is very tidy and detailed. You will note it has power steering and a six volt Optima battery.
The trunk is also show-worthy. I believe the trunk upholstery is original. It is very nice. The jack and wrench are behind the spare. The protective hubcap serves to keep your luggage from getting marred.
There are six tires, including the two spare. The spares are older, but in great condition. The four wide whitewalls are older, but in great condition. The four wide whitewalls on the car are radials by Coker. They have less than 500 miles since installed.
The Bedford Cloth/Broad cloth gray interior is very nice. I was told the upholstery is original. With just over 53000 miles of use, that is believable. The carpet was likely replaced. All interior chrome and metal is nice. All features and lights work. The Signal Seeking radio plays a modern CD changer through its speakers.
Cadillac celebrated its Golden Anniversary by improving the 1952 models. This car has been sparingly driven, lovingly cared for and cherished. It awaits your presence.
