For Sale: 1981 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am TA in Sherman, Texas

1981 Pontiac Trans Am *TURBO* Recaro T/A….*T-TOPS* all original This 1981 T/A is a very clean, original example of the classic Trans Am body style from the late 70s and early 80s. The Turbo Trans Am was only produced in 1980 and 81 in limited numbers. EXTERIOR: The body is straight and solid with the original paint. The paint is hanging in there and showing minor wear and tear. The decals are in good shape as is all the weatherstripping. The doors, trunk and hood all open and close like they should and the T-tops fit nice and snug. INTERIOR: The original interior is still intact and showing only minimal wear. The driver seat has one spot that could be sewed back together and the passenger door panel has a tear in the carpeting at the bottom. The factory Recaro seats are comfortable and supportive. The gauges seems to be pretty accurate and the factory radio and speakers still sound great. MECHANICAL: The 301 cubic inch Pontiac has a Garrett turbo from the factory and still performs like it did back in ‘81. Not a race car by any stretch, but adequate power to move this big bird around town with ease. The 3 speed automatic shifts smoothly. The air conditioning blows cool and could use a charge, but still seems to function as it was intended. The car brakes and steers like a dream, goes down the road very well considering its age and is really a joy to drive.
