Vehicle Description
Exotic Classics is pleased to present a wonderful 1939 Cadillac
Series 75 Convertible Sedan. This example has benefited from an
older restoration. Originally trimmed in Black over Black, it is
now finished in Monterrey Blue over Tan hides, a less formal and
more pleasant warm weather color combination. Cadillac introduced
the Series 75 in 1936 as its top of the line V8 model, a step above
the Series 60 line. It was initially offered with both Fisher and
Fleetwood bodies, but by 1938 only bodies from the high-end
Fleetwood could be had. The selection was vast with no less than a
dozen different all-steel body styles offered in 1939 from formal
and upright limousines to two and four door open cars. Powered by a
smooth 140 horsepower, 346 cubic inch V8, the luxurious yet sporty
Caddy benefited from steering column mounted selective synchro
manual shifting. Although 2069 Series 75s were produced, this is
believed to be one of only 36 Series 75 Convertible Sedans
produced. This Cadillac would make a great open tourer for the
whole family.
