Matching numbers engine
Two owners from the Military of Colombia
New ORIGINAL TOP
Clean Florida Title In Hand
The FJ-40 series of Toyota Land Cruisers came to an end with the 1984 FJ-70 model release, but not before some unique examples had been imported from the manufacturer into the Americas.
This medium-wheelbase four-wheel-drive 1982 FJ-43 would be on that list as one of the rarer examples. First launched in 1960, these versatile off-road vehicles have gained a steady following in following decades, with examples unvarnished by over-use finding status in today’s collectors market. The medium-length wheelbase versions are considered harder to find than the shorter FJ-40 or longer FJ-45 series model.
The appeal of this off-road machine is multifold. Previous 2 Owners of the Military of Colombia, the Red exterior paint is accented by a New OEM Tan canvas soft top and Gray interior, all period correct to this FJ. It is powered by Toyota’s 4.2L inline-6 cylinder 2F engine, a carburated example that is original to this vehicle with matching numbers; behind this is a 4-speed manual transmission coupled to factory differentials through a 2-speed transfer case.
The FJ-43 rides on four Runway Enduro M/T wheels and an all-drum brake design, featuring a rear-mounted spare, front tow hook, and fixed rear tow ball.
This FJ-43’s interior features facing rear jump seats, giving it the unique potential as a private transport vehicle. It also the rare center dash trim cluster, floor shift, radio and passenger side grab bar.
The odometer in the car presently shows 29979 believed-original kilometers.
