Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very clean 1999 Mercedes Benz SLK-230 Kompressor. The SLK was the compact two seater roadster introduced to compete with the Porsche Boxster and the BMW Z3. Mercedes used a 2.3 Liter inline 4 with a supercharger. Some say this short wheelbase car was the modern reincarnation of the 190SL. There's no question the modern SLK has far better performance figures considering the blown 2.3 cranks out 193 HP. The SLK was Mercedes Benz' first ever hard top convertible. The metal roof folds electronically to fit behind the seats. This allows for top down fun as well as a nice rigid car when the top is up. With plenty of power and a lightweight chassis, this really is a true driver's car. With a slick red exterior, this one sure is an eye catcher. The interior is typical Mercedes Benz: high quality leather, an attractive but functional dash, and plenty of power goodies. The black leather bucket seats are nice and supportive for the tight corners but nice and comfortable for long drives. This particular car has only 33,380 miles and has plenty of life left.
