For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RS 396. This is the business man's muscle car. Highly optioned with lots of power. This 396 Big Block is the 350 horsepower version and is the most powerful 1969 Camaro to be equipped with A/C. The more powerful 375 horsepower 396 was a solid lifter engine and makes a lot of its power further up in the rev range making it difficult for the A/C pump to handle the high RPMs. Furthermore, if you select the 375 horse engine, you are focused on power and probably don't care about A/C. Other options making this car a loaded muscle car include rear window defogger, speed warning indicator, Body colored front bumper, Power windows, Power brakes, Power steering, Tilt steering column, RS hideaway headlights, Vinyl covered roof, Hockey stick accent striping, Hounds tooth interior, AM/FM with Stereo, clock, low-fuel light, folding rear seats, Air Conditioning, Wood grained interior plastic trim, Fiber optics lamp monitoring, Chrome hood louver and of course the 350HP 396 big block engine and TH-400 automatic transmission with a 12 bolt rear end housing 3.73 Posi-Traction. The frame off restoration was completed in June of 2015. All parts used were NOS (New Old Stock). The car was painted in the correct Rally Green and is fitted with a correct green vinyl covered roof, Black and White Hounds tooth interior, 14x7 Rally Wheels with NOS caps and trim rings with Polyglas Goodyear tires.
