This 396 Big Block is the 350 horsepower version and is the most powerful 1969 Camaro to be equipped with A/C. The more powerful 375 horsepower 396 was a solid lifter engine and makes a lot of its power further up in the rev range making it difficult for the A/C pump to handle the high RPMs. Furthermore, if you select the 375 horse engine, you are focused on power and probably don't care about A/C.
