The "square body" pickup body style of the 70's and 80's ended with the 1987 model which Chevrolet designated as the R10 for two wheel drive or V10 for four wheel drive variants. This '87 R10 has undergone an extensive body restoration which includes a lot of brand new sheet metal and hours and hours of bodywork. The result is a laser straight body finished in a deep black finish which has been polished to a high gloss. This paint is the type of finish that looks like you can reach your hands right into it like the top of a bucket of paint. You almost don't want to touch it because it still looks wet. A custom grill and headlight assembly gives a custom look, and the absence of side trim gives a clean minimalist look. Under the hood is a bit more than the bland 305 the truck was born with. This one now sports a healthy 400 CID Small Block V8 which has been professionally built with all the goodies. This one has been balanced and blueprinted, and bored .60 over. It is a full roller with roller cam, rockers, and lifters. It has performance aluminum heads and a 750 CFM Holley sitting on top. With these modifications it has an estimated 450 HP. It is backed up by a 700R4 automatic transmission which leads to a Detroit locker rear end with 3:73 final drive ratio. This thing is a hoot to drive and really pulls hard. The interior is mostly original in red cloth with a comfortable bench seat. It has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and seat belts.
