This 1971 Chevrolet Genuine split bumper Camaro is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The second generation Camaro was an instant success with the public. Its new lower and wider stance led way to its nickname “super hugger”. The 1971 Camaro received very little changes from 1970 which was a direct result from the late arrival of the 1970 model but the strike did not help things either. Even with all this going on GM still had a good looking car but in order to make it great you the RS package add on was required. This gave the car a much more masculine look with the grill plummeting out of the middle and two small chrome bumpers on either side it truly made the Camaro look like a totally different car. This 71 is believed to be an original real deal split bumper with its two round parking lights up top making it a dead giveaway. The red paint is slick and shows off the lines of this hopped up pony car while the black racing stripes compliment the lower spoiler perfectly. The stance of this hugger is even wider and lower than normal thanks to the new shocks upfront and a set of airbags in the rear this thing rides like it is on rails. Finished off with a set of staggered Foose wheels this pony looks like it’s ready to pounce just sitting there. Under the hood a small block that has been punched out to 406 CI making for a very healthy power plant. The lunatic roller cam gives it a nice lumpy idle and gives a great punch clean through the higher end RPM. It even looks good with the chrome valve covers and Edelbrock intake giving you even more of a reason to pop the hood at the next show. Of course that monstrous Holley carb sitting up top guarantees this small block will be fed well. The 3 inch exhaust with dual Flowmasters sounds good at idle but absolutely amazing when you lay into it. Open the door and the black interior is clean and well maintained with very little signs of wear. The seats are extremely comfortable and even have a little but if side bolsters to keep you planted. The center console houses the horse shoe shifter with asset of custom gauges right in front of it that look like factory. If you have wanted a real Split Bumper that will have everyone picking up there jaw as you drive by then your search is over but don’t wait too long these baby’s are a rare find.
