This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 1968 Camaro was very similar to the 67 model with Chevy using the old term “ if ain’t broke don’t fix it”. They had a great run going and a lot of that was due to there extremely fun easy to build and cost effective 327. The first of the 4” Bore small block motors the 327 would become a favorite of drag racers due to its high revving nearly bullet proof nature. This 68 327 is a great example of what you can do with one of those mighty mouse motors. Owned by the same person for the last 20 years this 68 has had some work done to it along the way. Now running in the high 6’s to low 7’s, in the 1/8 mile, this street strip car is ready for what-ever you throw at it. Start with the motor, Built from a 1969 302 Block this thing was made to rev the moon. The rocker arms have been switched over to a full rocker set and made from the highest grade of aluminum. The heads are from world products known as the best bang for your buck the sportsman 2 series have been around for awhile and for good reason. The cam is one that gives the car a good lumpy idle with the engine really coming to life at 3500 and above RPM’s. The Weiand intake is a tunnel ram which maximizes the Fuel supply to this hungry little mouse. With two Holley‘s sitting on top this is about as classic of a set up as they come. Ofcourse if that’s not quite enough the stages of Go Go juice should put you right over the top. The nitrous bottle is securely mounted in the trunk and can be easily changed. When you have such a powerful engine the transmission behind it is just as important. This old school 68 went with a Chrysler A 833 4 speed which is considered by many one of the toughest transmissions around. Backed up by a bullet proof DANA 60 rear end this Camaro is ready to hook and book.
