The car was designed to compete head to head with GM's hardtop coupes which had taken the automotive world by storm. The pilarless design, known simply as a hardtop, gave the appearance of a convertible with the all of the advantages of a fixed roof. This 56 is a classic example of what the 50's were all about. The Black and white two tone paint split down the middle with the chrome trim absolutely screams Americana. Add to this the wide white wall tires with the two rears being concealed by a set of fender skirts finishing off the period correct exterior. Pop the hood and the biggest peppiest engine offered in 1956, the 312 V8, sits nestled away under the hood.
