Chrysler engineers were given free rein to design whatever they wanted in a "hot rod" or "sportster" type vehicle. Thomas C Gayle Chrysler's design and international director "love for 1930s-era hot rods inspired Chrysler's latest design triumph, the retro-styled Plymouth Prowler. An early influence is credited to a Chrysler-sponsored project at the Art Center College of Design that resulted in a thesis by Douglas "Chip" Foose that included drawings of a retro-roadster Foose who designed it as a coupe for Chrysler to begin with, but modified it to a roadster version. The V6 in this beauty is the second generation engine with 253 hp which is considerably more that the first engine Chrysler used in the Prowler. The car has the stock alloy wheels on all four corners with period correct tires. Inside you will find that everything works including the tach that was added to the steering column. The thick beautiful leather seats are in great condition as you would expect from a car with mileage this low. The tires are all in very good condition as well. The Midnight Blue paint is a color you won’t see coming down the street while you enjoy some open top fun in this beautiful Roadster.
