Originally intended for a run of 5,000 units, only 4,118 of the Mustang GT/CS were produced. Shelby Automotive designed the GT/CS custom body work including the left and right side scoops, rear decklid, and tail lights. Some of the other standard features on the California Special included fog lights, hood pins. The California Special was also readily identifiable by the unique “GT/CS” side stripes and “California Special” emblems on the quarters and ducktail spoiler. This particular California Special has had the dashboard graced with the signature of the late great Carol Shelby. Other interior features include an aftermarket radio and a vinyl interior. Under the hood you’ll find a 289 CID V8 with an Edelbrock 4bbl carburetor, mated to a 3 Speed manual. This California is ready to take a cruise to the state of its namesake.
