For sale in our Detroit Showroom is this fully restored 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. The Volkswagen Beetle was first sold in the United States in 1949 and at that time was a much smaller car than what Americans were used to. The largest change to date for the Beetle was in 1965 which now had significantly larger windows the windshield was 11% larger and now slightly curved, door windows by 6%, rear side windows by 17.5%, and the rear window by 19.5% resulting in a much more open modern look. This particular 1965 Volkswagen Beetle was originally a California car and has undergone a full pan off restoration. It now has a beautiful tan cloth and leather interior, new carpet, and the dash was fully restored and also has a well detailed trunk area. The Beetle was lowered to give it a perfect stance and looks great with the Porsche wheels wrapped in brand new Continental tires. The engine was rebuilt and has just over 600 miles currently, has a new tuck away exhaust having a great sound, and really handles well with the upgraded radial tires and front disc brakes. This is a very fine example of a show winning Beetle which also features a great quality white exterior, original bumpers coated in triple-plate chrome, all new rubber seals, and custom Euro-style fog lamps. Everything on this Volkswagen has been restored with over $30,000 invested in the restoration and it truly shows.
