For sale in our Chicago showroom is this beautifully kept 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale. 1972 was the second year of the seventh generation of the Delta 88. This particular example is the Royale model, which features a more refined interior, and special badges on the vehicle. Powering this personal luxury cruiser is the original rocket 350 V8 engine coupled with the original 3-speed automatic transmission. Starting the car up gives that soft burble that one would expect from a classic of this era. Just enough to let you know it’s running, but nothing that would become a hassle on the highway. A new application of the original color was applied in 2013, as was a new vinyl top. The interior is all original from ’72, and shows very well for its age. The original rims were replaced with a chrome set from Foose with new tires to keep this classic safe to drive. Earlier this year a full tune up, including new spark plugs and wires, was completed to ensure many more miles of problem-free driving. With all of the originality and the maintenance performed, this is a great example of a drivable classic.
