The engine is a newly rebuilt 327 with all new internals, engine has new JE 11:1 pistons, very nice sounding Comp cam, 462 double hump heads with stainless 202 194 valves, screw in studs, alumn intake with holley 750 double pumper carb, brand new 14" holley air filter. Engine runs perfectly and sounds fantastic with a brand new Flowmaster American Thunder 40 Series exhaust system.
Transmission is a turbo 400, car has a 12 bolt rear end with 3:31 posi, great combination for driving on short or long trips.
original AC car true Impala not a Caprice. This will a be excellent project car to finish. The body is on of the best I have found in some time. Floor pans are in great condition along with a solid trunk pan that just has surface rust. Doors are rust free and open and shut perfectly, one fender has a small place in the bottom that will need a small patch replacement. The rear quarters and good only needing work to the lower rear section, channels around windshield and rear glass are in very good condition.
The interior is mostly complete, as far as parts go. Dash pad will need to replaced, door panels are in great condition, recently painted with SEM vinyl restoration paint, "buckskin" color. The seats are original frames with a brand new upholstery job in the original pattern, and high quality black vinyl. All interior handles and levers for the doors come with the vehicle even though they are not install in the photos. A new dashpad was also purchased and with a couple coats of the SEM Buckskin vinyl paint will match the door panels. The purchase also comes with more cans of the same paint so you can finish painting the dashboard and other interior sections. There is also a brand new black carpet custom made to fit perfectly in this model.
The brakes work fine for original, manual drum brakes, but could use some TLC to become more effective.
Headlights, taillights, blinkers are functional, but recently a few bulbs have gone and need replacement. Interior cabin light needs to be repaired as well.
There will be minimal rust to have to fix on the car, very solid body with exception of 2 problem areas which will require some bondo or partial panel replacement. All body side moldings are in good condition along with windshield and rear glass are stainless. Any missing trip has already been purchased brand new and is included in the purchase. (Wheel well trip, hood trip, brows.)
Previous owner attempted a poor spray-paint job over the original blue color. Some of the trim was painted over, but the paint removes easily with a fine, fine sandpaper rub.
The car was purchased with the intent of converting into a Supernatural "Baby" replica, however I've found I just don't have the time and resources that are required for restoration. I tried, but life gets in the way more often than it doesn't. So I'm looking to hand it off to someone who is ready to pick up the mantle and turn this beautiful piece of American History and power into the shining gem is should be.
