Vehicle Description
Worldwide Vintage Autos is pleased to present this 1971 Chevrolet
Blazer. We do a lot of these first generation blazers and this one
is ONE OF THE NICEST WE HAVE SEEN! Top to bottom restoration. The
forward looking collector will note that classic trucks are just
getting started - and there are plenty of underpublicized specimens
out there Autoweek Magazine February 2016. We scour the country
for vintage cars and trucks like this and we rarely come across one
like this! You must see and drive this rare Blazer!
HISTORY
The original K5 was a short wheelbasetruck. It was available in
1969 as 4-wheel drive only; in 1970, a two-wheel-drive model was
offered. There were four choices for power plants: the250
instraight-6, the292straight-6, the307V8, and the350V8.
The Blazer was designed and marketed to compete withInternational
Harvester Scoutand theFord Bronco. Both of these were originally
aimed at the shortJeep CJseries, which were much smaller than
other trucks. The great innovation of the Blazer was to simply
offer a shortened pickup truck, which both increased interior
space, and lowered the cost of production with a shared platform.
The Blazer quickly became popular. For the first time, it married
the off-road capabilities of the Scout with the luxury features
like air conditioning and automatic transmissions routinely
available on pickup trucks. By 1970, the Blazer was already
outselling both of its older rivals.Ford,Dodge, and even Jeep
would counter with similar shortened pickups, with theDodge
RamchargerandJeep Cherokee. It also came as a convertible.

Own this vintage Blazer at a fraction of the build cost. The cost
of parts and restoration of these vehicles are increasing daily.
They are not making any more and, therefore, they are becoming more
rare by the day. Buy one complete and ensure your investment for
the future. Doing a restoration / customization project on a first
generation K5 like this would cost over $30K not including the
vehicle itself. Don't do the work yourself, get one finished for
roughly half of the cost of building it yourself!
An excellent investment and something you can enjoy daily.
Collectible vintage vehicles have historically appreciated at a
rate greater than that stock market, gold and other arts and
collectibles as documented by many articles and auction result
tracking.
