Vehicle Description
Here is a really stunning example of a Silver Shadow II. Finished
in 2-tone Shell Grey over Masons black with an elegant combination
of red & black fine lines to the waist-rails and hub cap beauty
rings. The interior has handsome rich burgundy Connolly hides and
matching carpets. The same theme carries through to the boot. The
Silver Shadow II was the ultimate of the Shadow series with many
engineering upgrades to include rack & pinion steering, revised
suspension geometry for a surer ride, factory dual (quiet) exhaust,
climate control air conditioning and a revised dash board lay-out.
This is an very original unmolested example that has been
beautifully maintained and presents in excellent condition. A
southern state Rolls-Royce all its life so it is a "dry" car that
has had a garaged environment. As a result, it has been freed from
the perils of harsh weather and is very clean underneath. It has
always been well maintained and serviced and comes with its
original manual, keys and tools. The Shadow II presented here has
been fully work-shop by us at Park-Ward. Important costly items
such as the hydraulics and brakes are fully inspected and serviced
as required. This includes brake pumps, accumulators and checking
of all brake hoses and system pressure tested and bled. It is ready
to drive and enjoy. The odometer shows a low 44,800 and although
this is not verifiable with documentation, there can be no question
it is accurate (particularly when you look at the condition of the
interior, under-hood, brake pedal etc). The car actually looks like
it has done only 20,000! It is very quiet and smooth on the road
without any of the typical "thumps" and "rattles" typical of poor
(or even averagely) maintained examples of this model. I cant
stress enough, just how beautiful this Shadow II is. The interior
is simply wonderful. The burgundy leather is in great condition
with little to no wear nor fading and true to its Connolly
characteristics (slight marks on driver bolster but minimal). The
leather really has been lovingly preserved and shows the correct
amount of patina. The burr walnut wood throughout the car is
stunning. All the wood is original except for the 2 front door
cappings which were redone because of seat-belt buckle chips. These
were done to "factory standard". The overall finish on the wood
throughout is simply stunning and like new. It is rare not to see
the wood cracked and peeling when at this age, so for these to be
original only further proves its low mileage and cosseted
life-style. And, you have to thank Mother Nature for its beauty.
The grain and pattern with think knots makes it one of the most
beautiful for Rolls-Royce I've seen. Absolutely stunning! The head
lining is original and in perfect condition. The original Wilton
wool carpets with leather binding are in excellent condition.
Likewise is the leather finish to the dash and top-roll. Even the
boot (trunk) carpet with the same theme is in excellent condition.
The exterior presentation of this Silver Shadow II is stunning. The
body is exceptionally straight and the paint is of excellent high
standard and finish. Areas of the paint appear to be original which
is also unusual for a Silver Shadow as they usually all are faded
by this juncture. There is some very slight fade on the left-side
hood but it is minor and nothing that regular polishing won't
maintain. All over she is shiny, lustrous and totally consistent
with only the most minor marks and blemishes here and there. A
regular polish and wax from time to time and this car is great. The
car has a good set of white-wall tyres fitted with plenty of tread
and the hubcaps are excellent with no imperfections in the
stainless rings or caps. All remaining bright-work is in good
condition. All electrics have been checked right down to the
smallest & insignificant dash and courtesy light. Even the clock
keeps good time! The car is of very high standard and is an easy 10
out of 10
