For Sale: 1948 Chevrolet 3100 in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME, FRAME-OFF RESTORED, 1948 CHEVROLET 3100 RESTO-MOD PICK UP....LOADED WITH ALL THE GOODIES INCLUDING POWER STEERING, POWER FRONT DISC BRAKES, ICE COLD A/C, AND MORE....ONE OF A KIND, HIGH QUALITY, AND READY TO SHOW AND GO!! This beautiful 1948 Chevrolet 3100 embodies the best of both worlds...the classic look of one of the hottest classic trucks on the market wrapped around an updated drivetrain with ground pounding power and beautiful stance that runs and drives as good as it looks. Restored approximately 2 years ago by a gentleman in Kentucky this '48 looks like it was just restored last week. Just a little over 800 miles put on it since it was completed so it is very fresh and ready to hit the show circuit if desired and even better, ready to be driven and enjoyed by the next lucky owner! It is difficult to show just how nice this truck is in pictures but I can honestly say that the fit and finish on this one is top notch. There are plenty of over the top builds out there that are too nice to drive and then there are plenty of average builds out there as well. This '48 really fills a a sweet spot for someone who demands quality but intends on driving their classic truck and wants it to be set up right and have all the right equipment that will make it fun and easy to drive and provide some of the modern comfort features like ice cold A/C, modern stereo, etc. I will do my best to provide enough large images, a video of the truck starting up and running, and an honest description to help you decide if this is the one you have been searching for. I am confident the next lucky owner will be absolutely thrilled when this truck arrives to their driveway! The body and paint on this '48 are extremely high quality!!! This is an all steel body panel truck that obviously lived a good life and was then professionally caressed during the frame-off restoration resulting in about as straight a body as I think you will find on a Chevrolet 3100 classic truck. The doors on this truck open and shut with the solid feel and sound of a new truck which is rare. The charcoal gray metallic is really a stunning color and the paint quality is show quality. As you will see in the pics below the Charcoal gray metallic paint has been professionally accented with some beautiful vintage pin-stripe work done locally by Conways Customs. The "Chevrolet" in the tailgate was painted in the same color both on the outside and inside of the bed. Gorgeous wood bed! I would love to call the truck absolutely flawless but I prefer to point out the minor flaws I have noticed so that the buyer does not have any surprises. I noticed a couple of very small chips along the top rail of the bed that were touched up and there are couple of very small spots in the wood bed where the clear coat has cracked slightly. This truck has a fantastic stance and does sit a little low in the front and if you run your hand along the bottom eded of the front bumper you can feel where it may have rubbed the pavement a few times. Otherwise, this truck is truly a show truck that you can also jump in and drive and enjoy. All of the Chrome looks awesome. Glass appears to all have been replaced and is nicely tinted. Running boards are painted in black and accent the charcoal body nicely. Rear bumper filler panel looks great. Simply a beautiful, near flawless body on this Classic '48. Complimenting the gorgeous charcoal gray metallic exterior is an equally impressive and extremely supple burgundy leather interior. The bench seat keeps the interior looking just original enough but as you look around the rest of the interior you will enjoy the modern amenities that were added. Seat belts for 3 passengers were installed. An Idid-it tilt steering column provides more room for larger drivers and a great looking Lecarra leather wrapped steering wheel was mounted. In front of the driver are a great set of modern gauges from Haneline providing all the vital read outs. Of course there is all new wiring throughout this frame-off restored truck. All of the lights and gauges appear to be working correctly although the speedometer tends to jump around a bit and we will try to resolve this. wipers were converted to an electric wiper system and do work if needed. A beautiful ice-cold vintage air conditioning system runs along the bottom of the dash and looks like something the factory would have it installed. If the sweet rumble of the 350 V8 is not enough for you then enjoy the custom Pioneer stereo am/fm/cd Sirius Xm capable and bluetooth ready unit neatly installed with Rockford Fosgate speakers in the doors and tweeters in the custom matching headliner. Classic Lokar Automatic shifter sit on the floor atop the custom matching carpeting. Again, I would call the interior near flawless with the only minor imperfection I noticed being a few small wrinkles in the custom door panel on the passenger side. The fresh smell of leather awaits the next lucky owner. Hopefully at this point you will agree that this is an absolutely beautiful classic truck and you now might be wondering, does it run and drive as good as it looks? Absolutely!!! This is not just a gorgeous piece of eye candy that was not built to be driven. This '48 has a fresh crate 350 V8 with an estimated 300 horsepower with polished headers breathing out an amazing sounding dual exhaust that exits right in front of the rear wheels. The motor has basically just been broken in with just over 800 miles since completion. Fuel is supplied by the high end quick fuel carburetor with electric choke. I do not have details on the build of the motor but you can tell it has a mild cam and provide plenty of power that will put you back in your seat if you nail it from a stop but it is also built to cruise comfortably at highway speeds. The 350 V8 is mated to a new turbo 350 automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. Power is put down through the 10 bolt rear end with highway friendly gearing which I believe is 3.23 gears. This truck handles beautifully partially due to the camaro front clip that was professionally installed. Front end was lowered nicely and of course you have power steering as well. Rear suspension was also updated with a 4 link system with coil overs. This truck stops with ease thanks to the power front disc brakes. Electric fans and an aluminum radiator were installed to keep this baby running cool. I love the stance and look of this '48 as it sits with a slight lowered rake and is sitting on a period correct set of 15" artillery wheels painted in the burgundy color with great looking bow tie hub caps wrapped in a close to new set of radials. As you will see the engine bay has been very nicely dressed out. The firewall was smoothed out and wiring is all neatly done for a very clean, show worthy appearance. The undercarriage looks great as well. Make sure you listen to the video that follows to hear how amazing this truck sounds also!!!
