Carrol Shelby was motivated by speed as a driver and after retiring
from racing he obtained a license to import the AC Ace. He fell in
love with the performance of the small English roadster at Le Mans
and knew he could beef it up with a Ford V8 to compete with the
fastest autos in the world. Shelby's thirst for performance and the
victory circle caused him to become a household name and automotive
legend, and the AC Cobra is his crowning achievement. Factory Five
Racing was founded in 1995. They are the world's largest
manufacturer of component car kits. Factory Five Racing is located
in Wareham, Massachusetts. Their products are made right here in
the USA, in the heart of New England, where American manufacturing
was born.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this outstanding example of a
Shelby Replica. This Cobra is finished with Racing Blue, containing
small metal flakes that make it shimmer in the sunlight. It is a
fiberglass body to reduce the weight of the car, not like there was
much of a weight problem, to begin with! It is powered by a 5.8L
351 Windsor engine, which is fed by a Holley Single 4-Barrel Carb
and fired up with an electronic ignition. Some other mechanics
include Edelbrock heads, Tremec 5-Speed manual transmission, MSD
coil, ignition, and Distributor. Also for suspension, this Cobra
has front independent, as well as 4-link rear suspension. The
always recognizable body is the rare Racing Blue with White racing
stripes, carbon fiber body, chrome roll bar, and accent pieces. The
frame has been powder coated black, and in great shape, this car
has 18'' Cobra wheels, with Goodyear Eagle GT Tires. The interior
is super clean with the recognizable Cobra floormats and Hurst
shifter. With a split spoke steering wheel and a Simpson 5-point
harness to keep you strapped in when you open it up!
