Vehicle Description
1975 Dodge D100 Pickup Truck
In 1976 the world celebrated the bicentennial of the American
Declaration of Independence which was adopted 200 years earlier. To
memorialize that event, Dodge released its Spirit of 76 edition
late in 1975. Honoring the Red, White and Blue these trucks were
built with additional trim options, special paint, and a premium
interior. This 1975 Dodge D100 Pickup is one of those special
edition trucks and is all original. It was used as a farm truck for
many years and although the longbed body is not perfect it is still
in good shape. Plus, it would be a shame to mess with the body too
much because it is the original steel with the original paint from
the factory. It is coated in White with the Blue stripes with stars
down the sides ending Spirit of 76 on both rear fenders. The chrome
bumper up front is in good condition as is the grill and front
trim. All of the glass is in good shape with no cracks or issues.
It rolls around on its original wheels/hubcaps with tires that
still have plenty of life left.
Powering the pickup is a 318V8 motor that runs well and has no
problem moving this pickup down the road. Being a farm truck it has
to be strong and reliable which are conditions this truck has no
problem filling. The motor is paired with a 3 speed automatic that
shifts smoothly. It has the factory rear end, suspension and brakes
which don't have any problems. Power brakes and power steering make
the pickup a very comfortable driver.
The interior of the pickup is done in Black and has been very well
maintained. You can tell the owner took a lot of care to make sure
the inside was always kept clean. The bench seat is comfortable and
utilizes matching Black lap belts. The dash still bears all of its
factory components and all of the knobs, switches, gauges, etc are
working well with no issues.
If you are in the market for a cool classic work truck with a neat
history this is definitely one to check out. You don't see these
Spirit of 76 editions very often and although we don't know the
exact production numbers it is without a doubt a rare edition.
