body paint, original unrestored interior - all in excellent
condition, road ready, and reasonably priced. Documented by
NCRS Judging sheets and original warranty book. The Top
Flight award was achieved after the owner drove it 98.6 miles to
the show. What more needs to be said?
EXTERIOR
Stunning original yellow metallic paint is in outstanding
condition. She shows normal wear from washing and
detailing. There are no significant flaws from damage
or collision in the paint or body work. All body panel gaps,
doors, and hood are even and fitted to factory tolerances.
The largest deduction was '5 for condition of the luggage
rack. She earned 1044 out a possible 1100 points for the
Exterior Section.
INTERIOR
All interior accessories are in working order. All trim and
bright work are in very good condition, showing mild wear for
original pieces. The photos show the driver's side door lock
knob is missing - it has been replaced since the photos were
taken. All soft trim is in likewise very good condition with
no discernible rips or tears. The patina is very even in the
interior, with no one area standing out as deficient. She
earned 772 out of a possible 800 points for the Interior
Section.
ENGINE BAY
The original drivetrain is intact including original engine
assembly. Some may take note on the "small block" air cleaner,
this is the original air cleaner assembly for the car.
NCRS gave no deduction for correctness, rather -2 for "Age" and -4
for the air filter being a "Non GM, replacement". The engine
bay displays a gentle patina consistent with a unrestored, show
quality vehicle. All mechanicals are in working order with no
known issues or malfunctions. Mechanical Score was a 905 out of a
possible 1000 points.
CHASSIS
Undercarriage and suspension are in excellent, unrestored
condition. The floorboards are clean, and frame rails are also
very clean with no evident damage. Overall, this a remarkable
surviving example. There are many unrestored shark body
Corvettes on the market, very few however are both unrestored and
in NCRS Top Flight condition. The largest deduction was
-8 for a missing TCS solenoid. She scored a 799 out of a
possible 850 points.
