Fiat introduced the 131 model at the 1974 Turin Motor Show. The successor to the 124, the 131 was offered as a coupe, sedan as well as station wagon. While it was a very successful family car offering the 131, in Abarth spec, was very successful in Rally racing, becoming the World Rally Constructors’ champions in 1977, 1978 and 1980. Fiat produced the 131 Series 1 to 1978 at which point the car continued production under Series 2 and later in 1981 continuing under Series 3. Fiat officially ceased production of the 131 in 1984.
This 1978 Fiat 131 is presented in yellow with red rocker “ABARTH” script and Abarth badging throughout. Additional exterior features include dual sideview mirrors and Cromodora Minilite-styled wheels. Bringing the car to a safe stop are power assisted brakes which feature front discs with Brembo calipers. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which is paired to a five-speed manual transmission. The interior is completed in black featuring aftermarket bucket seats, a Sonata radio and an aftermarket Ferrari branded steering wheel.
