This is a Rare Opportunity: I am excited to offer this truck, she is a real beauty and a rare find. Take a closer look at this Time Capsuled Pickup with Very Low Miles. This truck has 1690 Actual Miles on it! That's right, a 1990 Chevrolet 454SS Pickup with only 1690 miles. Original to the tee. Documented. Original Owner: This is a One Owner Truck that has been properly stored and maintained for 27+ years.
The 1990 Chevrolet 454SS is a high performance full size pickup that mated the C1500 standard two wheel drive cab with a 454ci 7.4 liter (V-8), the 3 speed automatic transmission, and a 3.73 rear axle ratio that transfered thrust from the 454 beast under the hood to the Goodyear tires on Special 454SS rims. The inside comes equipped with a special plush Garnet Red cloth interior and high-back reclining sport bucket seats with a Center Console. With the Huge 454ci Big Block there is not much room left under the hood. Unlike the 350 and smaller Engines this 454ci fills the entire engine compartment. Other items include front airdam with lights, 454SS graphic decals on rear bed left and right, black paint with black grille, bumpers, and mirrors. Halogen Headlamps, Also standard for the 454SS were 32 millimeter Bilstein gas-filled shock absorbers, a 32 millimeter front stabilizer bar, 12.7 to 1 fast-ratio steering gear assembly and heavy duty jounce bumpers, great looking black or chrome lug nut caps. This specific model of truck was only produced from 1990 to 1993. Total number of units produced was 16,953 its best year in 1990 with a total of 13,748 units sold, that left a total of 3205 sold from 91-93. The 454SS had reduced payload capacity smaller than the standard models in the years before, a high sticker price-(Most buyers forget about the high price after sitting behind the wheel)-and only gets at best 10mpg-12mpg The 454SS was and still is a pure thrill machine. Stock models are good for mid to high 15 second range in the quarter mile times. Its mid range punch is even better. The 454SS was manufactured and assembled at only one General Motors plant located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
UPDATE: I have located other Low Mileage 1990 454SS Pickups and learned the following information: One of them has just over 3000 Miles (unspecified exact mileage) and sold at Barrett Jackson Las Vegas 2016 for over $34K (plus auction fees, taxes, etc.). Another was scheduled to go to auction back East with 12 actual miles on it in December of 2016. They estimated it would bring $45K to $55K (I am unsure of the final hammer price on this one). At another Auction there was a 1990 SS454 Pickup with 3000+ miles that sold for over $34K (plus auction fees, taxes, etc.). And another in Canada is Private Party Owned, Not For Sale, with 22 miles on it and his insurance company has valued it at $45,000 USD. The owner thinks this valuation is a little light. Further reseach shows when these trucks have under 5000 miles on them they consistently sell for more than we are asking, and they continue to rise in value. So, if you are wondering how we came up with our asking price, this is some of the information we are using to establish this Truck's value. It is a great investment opportunity.
August 2, 2017 Update: I received an e-mail today form an owner of a ’90 454SS with mileage within 200 miles of this one we have for sale. We wants $45K for his truck and isn’t happy we are going so low to sell this truck. You better get it now before my client chooses to start over at $45K on this one…
