Mercedes 1000SEL
For sale 1984, 1000SEL Mercedes: this is the real thing and very rare. I think Jay Leno has one in his collection and I saw one on the internet in a car collection in Saudi Arabia. This one is in amazing condition (see attached photos) especially after having been an every day driver for 210,000 miles (80% were freeway miles).
No problems,everything works, ac needs a recharge, recently safety inspected and licensed. Original paint,never any body damage. You could get in it and drive to Saudi Arabia (if there was a road that ran that far) right now with no trouble as fast as you dared go (it will still go 140 mph all day long).
I have had more complements on this car than on all the other 40 automobiles i have owned combined. This is by far the best car i have ever owned. Standard conversions started at 70,000 dm over and above the 500sel base price of 52,000 dm and this one had the bigger cams hp engine upgrade on it. This one new was probably about $145,000 dm made by custom coach of Germany or carat by Duchalet. Most of these 1000sel’s were sold to wealthy middle east or asian buyers. This one way built for a wealthy asian buyer.
1000SEL options: (interior and exterior modified to Rolls-Royce specifications) Interior: All white leather with red leather accents, including dash (no vinyl anywhere) very thick leather- Rear window curtains – Burr walnut interior trim and shift knob- Alarm system- High end stereo Clarion and Pioneer- Ricaro racing seats- Lambs wool carpets (red); Exterior: High end paint, very thick (some had 48 layers)- Electrically operated sun roof- Special air rim in roof to reduce wind noise for sunroof- Lime green tint windows- Bigger cams (55 hp extra)- Anti dive rear suspension- New aerodynamic front bumper, side skirts and bumper- Sports suspension- Special rear lights that fill up the space of the license plate. Probably the only one just like it in the world.
