Vehicle Description
1966 Plymouth Satellite For Sale - Factory 426 Hemi, Rare, Original
and Fully Documented LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966
Plymouth Satellite. The Plymouth Belvedere Satellite was the top
trim model in the series between 1965 and 1967. It was only
available in two-door hardtop or convertible versions and had
standard bucket seats, center console, and a V8 engine. In 1966,
Plymouth introduced the 426 "Street Hemi" engine into the
Satellite. The "Street Hemi" was capable of incredible performance
both on the track and the road and was rated at 425HP. Many
mandatory options were added to the Satellite when the 426 Hemi
option was selected in order to handle the massive increase in
power. Richard Petty set a lap speed record in 1966 when he took
pole position for the Daytona 500 in a race prepped Hemi powered
Satellite and would go on to win the race. This 1966 Plymouth
Satellite has the factory 426 Hemi motor and with the TorqueFlite
automatic transmission, it is 1 of only 314 Hemi Hardtop Satellites
produced in 66. It was purchased new from LP Steuart Inc. by Mr.
John Anderson on June 21, 1966. It is finished in its factory
color Dark Blue exterior on the factory original Medium Blue bucket
interior. The previous caretaker took great pride in this car and
well as all cars in collection, he wanted to have the best original
factory examples that he could find. Other than a one exterior
repaint and service items replaced this car remains largely
original, complete with original paint in the trunk, jambs,
underhood and underside. This Satellite has a list of factory
options such as; Sure Grip Differential, 26" radiator core (found
mostly in Hemi powered cars), power brakes, disc brakes, power
steering, AM radio, factory wheel covers and Bluestreak Tires. This
Plymouth Satellite is in remarkable original condition
mechanically, as well as physically. This very rare and collectible
Hemi comes complete with window sticker, broadcast sheet, owner's
manual with warranty plate in dealer plastic envelope, copy of old
title, Galen Govier documents, service records and receipts. It is
indeed very unusual to find and early Hemi with this much factory
documentation, service history and receipts. This "Street Hemi"
Plymouth Satellite is a cruiser that provides a touch of elegance
but also unmatched performance. Its outstanding original Hemi,
complete with full documents as well as being 1 of only 314 makes
this Satellite an extremely rare find indeed. Additional Details:
