For Sale: 1950 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle in Kentwood, Michigan
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this custom 1950
Harley-Davidson Panhead for purchase. The Harley Davidson Company
was started a little over 100 years ago. In 1903 two friends began
this well respected name in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The brand was
created using both their names and took the "H" from William S.
Harley and the "D" from Arthur Davidson. The panhead was a
Harley-Davidson motorcycle engine, so nicknamed because of the
distinct shape of the rocker covers. The engine is a two-cylinder,
two-valve-per-cylinder, pushrod V-twin, made in both 61 c.i. (EL)
and 74 c.i. (FL, FLH) displacements. The engine replaced the
Knucklehead engine in 1948 and was manufactured until 1965 when it
was replaced by the Shovelhead. As the design of Harley-Davidson
engines evolved through the years, the distinctive shape of the
valve covers has allowed Harley enthusiasts to classify an engine
simply by looking at the shape of the covers, and the panhead has
covers resembling an upside-down pan.
This custom 1950 Harley-Davidson Hard Tail Head Bobber is
absolutely breathtaking. Recently restored, with a full custom
paint job. A wishbone frame, wide front end, disc brake, chain
drive, velocity stack and .30 over bore. The pictures truly speak
for themselves with this one. After the restore the bike was ridden
very gingerly resulting in only 142 miles on the odometer.
Exceptional quality build for an experienced Harley enthusiast,
this bike has been very well cared for and is ready to ride. A real
show stopper and great bar hopper, there are no disappointments
with the Harley offered here.
