1939 Chevrolet Master 85 Business Coupe was one of 41,770
manufactured. With a Body by Fisher, the Chevrolet marketing
emphasis was on an affordable car with styling and performance.
Offering trade-in bonuses and priority production to current
owners, the car was positioned to sell. While retaining some
styling similar to earlier models, the '39 model had a longer hood,
a sharply rounded grill and two smaller air intakes making this
model one that is desired by the top car collections world-wide. A
6 cylinder - 85 horsepower engine touted the car's ability to climb
hills and reach 25 miles per hour quickly. The vacuum-assisted
shift lever, mounted on the steering column, was a $10 option to
the price that started at $628.
