For Sale: 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Vehicle Description

1964 Corvair Convertible: They don’t get any Nicer! Owned for the last 30 years by a past-President of the Virginia Corvair Club, this two-owner Monza convertible is widely known and admired in this area. A winner of numerous awards—including most recently first place at a statewide show— this convertible is now being offered for sale. Paint and Chrome The Red finish—a color-change repaint—is in excellent condition that makes this car stand out. The paint gleams in a way that the original finish never did. Where needed, the chrome was all redone or replaced. The body and underside of the car appears to be free of rust (any needed rust repair was done when the car was restored) and it is clear from the condition of the underside that this car has been pampered over the years (see pictures). The black convertible top was replaced several years ago but looks perfect. The rear window is absolutely clear and the manually operated top mechanism works smoothly. Interior The seat upholstery was all redone as original in black vinyl that makes an excellent contrast with the exterior. The door panels are in excellent condition. The new carpet is a matching black. The instrument panel and dash are all fresh-looking. Engine The car’s 6 cylinder engine sits nestled in a fully detailed engine bay (remember this car’s show history). This Monza was equipped with the 110 engine (164 cubic inches) which was rebuilt approximately 5,000 miles ago. Transmission The 4-speed manual transmission shifts properly, executing upshifts and downshifts as it should. Wheels, Tires, Safety and Monitoring Systems This Monza has 5 real knock-off wire wheels mounted with Firestone 185/80R13 narrow whitewall tires that look almost new. The brakes bring the car to a straight and quick stop without pulling or shuddering. All of the gauges (speedometer, temp, gas and warning lights) work properly, as does the safety equipment (lights, turn signals, horn, wipers). The car has seatbelts in front. The radio will need attention An Award-winning Example of the Highly-regarded 1964 Monza Convertible This Chevy Corvair Monza convertible is fully restored and looks great. The Red paint and real wire wheels make this convertible a standout both in quality and rarity. The strength and performance of the rebuilt 6 cylinder engine reminds us why these cars were referred to as “the poor man’s Porsche.” These Monza convertibles are highly regarded and therefore represent not just a great driving experience but a sound investment as well. And if there was ever a car that transports you back to the ‘60s, this is it. Apart from the investment value of this car, it is hard to put a price on the feeling of enjoyment when other drivers and pedestrians wave and give you a “thumbs up.” FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL US AT: 540-370-4474
