This dry and rust free 1957 DeSoto Firedome 2drht was sold new in Mesa, Arizona and for the last 25-30 years it has lived in a little town on the Mexican border in Southern Arizona until the owner passed away recently. It is the most dry and rust free DeSoto I have seen in years! Many years ago, probably around 30 years ago the DeSoto was repainted in the non original color and the interior was redone at the same time. Originally the car was coral and black! The original 341 Hemi engine was rebuilt, it has an Adventurer cam and a 4 bbl intake and carburetor. The transmission has also been rebuilt and it has some miles on it since. The brakes and front end were recently rebuilt. The rear bumper has somewhat sun-faded chrome while the pot metal chrome is very nice. The DeSoto is a great driver as you see it but not a show car. Of course the best part is that you don't have to do any welding on the body!
We just installed a set of Coker Classic www radial tires and had the starter rebuilt and the DeSoto is ready to drive and enjoy.
