Vehicle Description
We know why you stopped to look at this 1958 Cadillac Series 62
Coupe DeVille... and it's the same reason plenty of folks will stop
and stare you when you're driving it. Everybody thinks 1950s
Cadillacs are cool. Of course when you can pick up an amazing V8
coupe bathed in gold and chrome for such an affordable price, you
wonder about the catch. But as you read on, you'll realize this
complete Caddy only gets better.
We treat a classic Cadillac like a precious metal, so it seems only
fitting that this one would sparkle in gold. It's a bit of an older
respray, which actually gives it the cool feeling of possibly
appearing original to many people (in reality, it's far more
alluring than the factory Meridian Taupe.) Bodywork is excellent,
and since there are no replacement panels for these cars, you know
you're looking at steel from the Cadillac craftsmen nearly 60 years
ago (it even lived in New Mexico most of its life, so it has that
perfect warm dry climate.) The rear quarter panels are perhaps the
largest ever stamped, and they're laser straight. We know you are
looking at all the detail pictures to make sure all that intricate
chrome trim is in place. And we're happy to tell you this car is
complete and mirror-like from the Dagmar caps all the way down to
the jet-inspired taillights. And speaking of the rear section, no
one did it better than Cadillac in the '50s. From the tailfins to
the wraparound bumpers that also house the exhaust, this is pure
art on wheels.
Just like the exterior, no one could match Cadillac for style and
quality. The taupe interior with Black Sierra cloth and Taupe
Metallic leather seats looks possibly original. And the whole
shining package makes you want to crank up the Elvis and go for a
cruise. The dash is original as well, and the dazzling chrome
instrument panel will most definitely remind you of a Wurlitzer
jukebox. As a true luxury Cadillac, this car still impresses today
with its level of pricey options such as power windows, an electric
trunk release in the glovebox, and a power front seat. There's even
provisions for modern R134a air conditioning. So yes, this is the
cool classic that's ready to carry all your friends and family in
comfort and style.
Cadillac's 365 cubic-inch motor fills this engine bay properly with
big V8 power. It looks fantastically well presented with the blue
block and valve covers hiding under the tidy black belts, hoses,
and air grabber. The motor fires up with ease, which is true sign
that this was well maintained, and in fact, we even believe the low
51,514 odometer could be actual. With a four-barrel carburetor,
this large hardtop coupe has the kind of legs to be peppy around
town and cruise at 85 MPH with ease. And the dual exhaust has a
nice rumble that reminds you of a classic American V8 without
jeopardizing the Cadillac's luxury atmosphere. Plus, the smooth
three-speed automatic transmission and power steering make this an
effortless classic cruiser. Add in full whitewalls on the gold
Cadillac turbine-style wheels, and we know you're already thinking
about where you take this classic to show it off to everyone.
Cadillacs are a rare treat to possess - only 18,414 of these coupes
were produced and far fewer survive this nicely today. So when you
can find one this well presented for such an obtainable price, then
you know it will be going fast. Call today!!!
