Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1958 Chevrolet Apache
Cameo for purchase. The Cameo Is often referred to as the "holy
grail" for classic truck enthusiasts. Coming out of World War II,
trucks were transitioning (slowly) from cars with flat beds welded
on to full on dedicated truck platforms. During the 2nd generation
GM introduced since WWII, Chevy went bold with the Cameo Carrier.
Although it was a model variant of Chevrolet's Task Force
light-duty pickup, the Cameo offered an array of car-like features
that included passenger-car styling, fiberglass rear fenders,
two-tone paint, a relatively luxurious interior, as well as an
optional V8 engine, automatic transmission, and power assists.
Trucks continued to develop, but with positive feedback many feel
the Cameo helped inspire the Ford Ranchero & Chevy El Camino as
some people wanted the "best of both worlds".
This 1958 Apache Cameo is just stunning with a fresh restoration
leaving it in concourse condition. Using a lot of the original
parts, finding a Cameo in better condition and with similar
originality is likely not possible. Finished in Bombay Ivory and
Cardinal Red, this pickup cruises nicely powered by the 283ci V8
and 3-speed column shift manual transmission. The paint, glass,
chrome, interior, and trim is all sorted through meticulously and
shows incredibly well. Please call or email for more details!
