One of the last Ferraris engineered and launched during Enzo Ferrari's lifetime, the 328 succeeded the highly popular 308 by offering an increased displacement V-8 and a myriad of detail changes throughout. Assembled in Maranello until the fall of 1989, the 328 is considered by many to be among the most drivable vintage Ferraris, thanks to its solid performance and general reliability.
ZFFXA20A8J0077668 was completed in June of 1988 and sold new through the famed Wide World of Cars Inc. of Spring Valley, NY on July 29th 1988. This North American specification GTS wears Rosso Corsa paintwork over Tan leather appointments, equipped with air conditioning and power windows. Today, the Ferrari appears meticulously maintained with just 19,230 recorded miles, while the preserved interior upholstery, excellent paintwork (see depth chart), undercarriage and stowage compartments remain tidy and nicely detailed. The rear trunk stowage, with working zipper contains a complete and original tool roll and emergency pouch with jack, tools, spare belts, bulbs and fuses. A rare occurrence, especially alongside the original leather bound owner's booklet containing all factory manuals and cards. An unused Speedline spare is stored up front, matching the near flawless, staggered 7" and 8"x16" wheels. Its original identification stickers remain adhered to both doors, boot lid, as well as the Glasurit and information decals inside the engine bay. Additionally, the driver's gas pedal carpet protector is still covered by factory plastic.
This GTS sports a strong powerplant, tight steering and solid suspension as expected from a limited driven example. In July 2016 a new timing belt was installed, and the service included new battery, recharge and R134A conversion of the air conditioning system. All electronics and lights remain in proper working order, including the clock, mirrors and auxiliaries. A file of service/maintenance records are included with the sale. As the final and most refined iteration of the "Magnum" Ferraris, the 328 has become quite the collectible and practical driver among the early post Enzo-era Ferraris. Having traveled an average of 685 miles per year since new this 328 GTS is an exceptionally preserved example worthy of investment and further enjoyment.
