Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer the mack daddy of all trucks: a 1967 Dodge WM300 Power Wagon. Originally designed to be used in WWII, Dodge 3/4 ton military trucks had a consumer based spin off they referred to as the Power Wagon. Way back in 1948, some consider this to be the first civilian 4x4. They used a fully enclosed weatherproof "single" cab, and added an 8 foot cargo bed. The typical power plant of the time would've been a massive flat head straight six, a 4 speed manual, and a 2 speed transfer case. The massive weight and size, as well as the low gearing, limited the truck to slow speeds, but allowed it to traverse any terrain you could imagine with ease. This particular Power Wagon has been beefed up quite a bit in the engine department. This one now sports a 454 CID V8 which has been recently rebuilt with new pistons, headers, roller cam, roller rockers, and a new carburetor. Power is estimated around 400 HP. The big block Chevy mates up to a TH400 transmission which was also recently rebuilt. The body has been completely frame off restored, repaired, and straightened. The paint was completed just 4 years ago in base coat clear coat and looks great. The undercarriage is solid and clean in chassis black. The trucks uses new brake lines, calipers, and a rebuilt brake booster. The massive solid wheels hold new tires which will climb over almost anything you can place in front of them. The interior features very utilitarian but attractive instrumentation and switchgear. Driving this truck is like operating a piece of heavy machinery. If you've ever dreamt of driving a monster truck, this may be as close as you'll ever get. This amazing truck is clean enough to take to shows, big enough to drive anywhere, and wild enough to catch attention wherever you take it.
