The Model – The new C3 Corvette of 1968 ushered in a complete new restyling of the GM’s signature sports car. The overall design proved to be the Corvette’s longest-running style. The C3 underwent numerous minor revisions including the 1980 facelift that added integrated front and rear spoilers into the bodywork. For 1981 the model lineup simplified to offer only the L-81 350 cid V-8 engine for all markets. The overall specification for all cars increased with air conditioning, tilt/telescoping steering column, sports mirrors and power windows that became standard on all Corvettes.
